Alex Cruz is a Peruvian filmmaker with a degree in Social Communication from the San Antonio Abad University of Cusco. He pursued specialized studies in Film Directing at the Darcy Ribeiro School of Cinema in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He worked at the Bartolomé de Las Casas Center, an organization focused on promoting intercultural policies. Later, he worked at the Guarango Film and Video Association, a production company that develops audiovisual projects focused on social development. He collaborates with the HD Perú Association, where he participated in the feature films "Río Verde: The Time of the Yakurunas" and "Sowers of Life." In 2013, he was selected for Buenos Aires Talents and in 2020 for Berlinale Talents, both times to participate in the Editing Lab workshop.
