Hetty Nietsch

From 1995 onward, she worked in television, initially at VARA as an editor for the program De Ronde van Witteman. In 1997, she joined NPS as a reporter for NOVA. She returned to VARA in 2002, where she began working for Zembla. In 2007, her documentary Valentijn was broadcast, following the transgender girl Valentijn over a period of nine years, beginning when she was eight years old, documenting her transition from male to female. From 1995 to 2002, she also served as a board member of the Christian Press Association, and from 2010 to 2018 she was a member of the Dutch Press Council.
