M. L. Srikanth

M. L. Srikanth (1945– ) was an Indian music composer and playback singer who worked in Tamil and Malayalam cinema during the late 1960s and 1970s. Trained by his father, musician Mahimaidoss, he made his film-scoring debut with *Thaalaattu* (1969) and later composed for *Prati Dhwani* (1971), *Ninaippadhu Niraiverum* (1976) and *Maanasa Veena* (1976). He also sang for his own compositions and recordings by M. S. Viswanathan, while continuing his work in All India Radio, Doordarshan and live light-music programmes. Though his film career was brief, several of his recordings from released and unreleased films have retained a strong cult following.
