Content: After three years without children, Ravi and Preeti's marriage remains happy until Ravi's mother, Kenchana, interferes in their household affairs. Kenchana urges Ravi to marry another woman, claiming she wants to see her first grandchild before she passes away. Ravi and Preeti then try to have a child because Ravi cannot bear to be separated from his wife. At the same time, Preeti also seeks advice from her neighbor, Fatimah, on how to conceive. Fatimah gladly teaches Preeti but they are still unsuccessful. The relationship between Fatimah and Preeti upsets Kenchana. Kenchana becomes jealous because Preeti is closer to Fatimah than to her, despite being Preeti's mother-in-law. Kenchana complains about this to Ravi. Ravi dismisses it as a trivial matter, which further upsets Kenchana.
